Who are we?
The International Acupuncture Academy is a subgroup of the Hellenic Corporation of Chinese Medicine (HCCM). HCCM was established in 2011 and is an official member of the World Federation of Acupuncture-Moxibustion Societies (WFAS), the world’s largest organization in the filed of acupuncture-moxibustion that has built official relations with the WHO.
The aim and focus of the International Acupuncture Academy is to promote the development and education of acupuncture and East Asian Medicine and its incorporation within the professional scope of practice of health professionals.
All professors, lecturers and tutors are experts in the field of Chinese Medicine and Acupuncture and the majority of them are registered health professionals (MDs, PTs), holding degrees in both Chinese Medicine and western allopathic health professions.

The course is structured in such a way that covers and respects all the foundations, perspectives, and approaches of Traditional Chinese Medicine, as practiced since antiquity.
In parallel, the neurobiological and biochemical responses induced by acupuncture that provide the scientific bases for its mechanism of action, as well as evidence based contemporary acupuncture approaches such as trigger point Dry Needling are covered.
As a result, the program bridges the gap between East and West, enabling practitioners the efficient use of acupuncture within their practice applying critical thinking and critical reasoning.
Finally, the course is being ran by leading experts in the field with many years in practicing and teaching this art.
Is the Educational Program delivered entirely online?
All modules (except clinical practice) are online and synchronous. They occur in “real time” and are interactive.
Clinical practice lasts one week (9h/day) and is taking place the last month of the course in our clinics in Athens, Greece.
In which language is the course or/and the clinical practice delivered?
All lectures and clinical practice are delivered in English
How long does it take to complete the course and how is the course structured?
210 contact hours, over a 7-month period (October – April).
All classes are held online during weekends, 2 weekends / month.
Clinical practice is taking place during the last month, in Athens, Greece during a 7 day period (one week), 9 hours / day.
What are the course fees and what is included?
Total course fee: 2700 €
Fees include: all online lectures, lecture notes, access to online student portal, exams, and clinical practice
Fees do not include: airplane tickets, accommodation
How can i pay for the course?
We accept Bank Transfer and PayPal (+3%)*.
A non-refundable payment of 250€ (which will be deducted from the tuition fees) is required to guarantee spot.
Students may spread the remaining fee over three (3) installments. The first installement must take place a week before the commencement of the course.
* NOTE: The rate for online transactions will increase to 3% when PayPal checkout option is used.

What if I miss a class? Are classes recorded or pre-recorded?
There is an online portal where all notes (e.g. ppt, pdf etc) can be found.
Due to GDPR classes are not being recorded.
All online classes are synchronous (they occur in “real time”) and are never pre-recorded.
Ηow is clinical practice conducted?
Clinical practice takes place in affiliated to the Hellenic Corporation of Chinese Medicine clinics, located in the city center of Athens, Greece.
Clinical practice lasts 9 hours / day, which include both acupuncture and complementary modalities (e.g., cupping, moxibustion) training, and clinical practice with real patients.
Will i have to pass exams?
Yes, exams will take place online during the final month, prior to the clinical practice.
Clinical assessment will be conducted during and in parallel to clinical practice.
Is the course accredited and what type of diploma do participants receive upon completion?
Upon successful completion of the course, all participants receive a Certificate of Acupuncture for Health Professionals issued by the World Federation of Acupuncture-Moxibustion Societies (WFAS). WFAS is the world’s largest organization in the filed of acupuncture-moxibustion that builds official relations with the WHO, and is an A-level liaison with the ISO, in special consultative status with UN DESA.
The course is also fully accredited by the International Acupuncture Association of Physical Therapists (IAAPT), a subgroup of the World Confederation for Physical Therapy, so PT graduates are additionally issued a Certificate of Acupuncture for Physical Therapists by IAAPT.
Upon successful completion of the course, all participants receive a Certificate of Acupuncture for Health Professionals (210h) issued by the Hellenic Corporation of Chinese Medicine (HCCM).
The course includes the NADA 5 point Acudetox protocol and therefore after completion graduates receive a certification from the National Acupuncture Detoxification Association (NADA GR).
